How to Hang Banners and Displays in Windows
Effective window displays are crucial for attracting foot traffic and increasing sales. Studies show that well-executed window displays can boost sales by up to 42%. Window signs serve as a first impression, generate interest, and reinforce branding. Using professional hanging systems can convert your windows into practical marketing tools, capturing the attention of passersby and pulling them into your store.
Traditional methods like suction cups and adhesive tape often fail, leaving signs unstable and prone to falling. This creates a mess, poses safety hazards, and can damage your displays. With the right tools and techniques, changing window displays can become a smooth process. Follow these steps to ensure your window displays are secure and visually appealing.
Know Before You Start
Will you be hanging the display from the window frame or the ceiling just behind the window? Window frames are typically aluminum and wood for a high end store. Before hanging your window displays, make sure the window frame is clean and dry to ensure proper adhesion of the Window Frame Plate which is made from steel and accepts the ClikMagnet™.
Tools and Equipment Needed
First, gather the following tools and equipment:
- ClikMagnets™
- Metal Window Frame Plate
- LoopLine™ Cord
- Scissors
- Measuring tape
- MagPole™ installation tool to raise the sign
- MagMover™ (for easy attachment and removal of ClikMagnets™)

Determining the Length of LoopLine
LoopLine is the cord you will use to connect the ClikMagnet to the sign. Each pair of lines must have the same number of loops so the sign hangs level.
To determine the appropriate length of LoopLine:
- Determine the distance you want the top of the sign to be from the top of the window frame.
- Measure and cut LoopLine to that dimension.
- Attach LoopLine first to the ClikMagnet and then to the sign.

Step-by-Step Guides
Step1: Attaching the Metal Window Frame Plate
Step 2: Connecting LoopLine™ to Clik-Clik™ Magnets
- Measure and Cut: Measure and cut LoopLine™ to the desired length. for hanging.
- Attach LoopLine™: Connect one end of the LoopLine™ cord to the Clik-Clik™ magnets and the other end to the sign.
Step 3: Hanging the Display
- Place ClikMagnets on the MagMover: Place the Clik-Clik™ magnets with the attached LoopLine™ onto the MagMover which is connected to the installation pole the MagPole.
- Attach to the Ceiling: Use the MagPole to raise the sign to the metal plates and connect.
- Removal: When ready to replace the sign, use the corkscrew on the MagMover/MagPole combination to snag the ring and pull. The corkscrew traps the ring to keep the sign from falling.
Tips and Considerations
- Double-Check Measurements: Always measure twice before cutting the LoopLine™ cord to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure Stability: For thinner sign materials including paper, vinyl and fabrics, consider using the E-Z Elliptical Aluminum Banner hanger as a topper that stabilizes the material and eliminates bowing..
- Clean Surface Thoroughly: Ensure the window frame or surface is clean and dry before applying the Metal Plate for maximum adhesion.
- Alternative Connectors: If attaching to a drop ceiling behind the display window use the E-Z Twist-On with Hook. If working with wood or drywall ceilings, use a J-Hook screw for your attachment points. Both are compatible with LoopLine which will help your sign hang level.
